Film screening: "Beautiful Islands"


As part of a year-long series of events celebrating its 60th anniversary, the UH-M Center for Pacific Islands Studies is sponsoring a screening of the documentary Beautiful Islands at the Hawaii International Film Festival's Spring Showcase. The film, which documents the effects of climate change on islands, will screen Sunday, April 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Dole Cannery. It will be followed by a question and answer period with director Kana Tomoko and Dr. Maxine Burkett, who is an Associate Professor of Law at the William S. Richardson School of Law and serves as the inaugural Director of the Center for Island Climate Adaptation and Policy (ICAP) at the Sea Grant College Program.
